After two years of ownership we have decided to sell our 1988, fin keel Moody 31, Malahi. We have cruised her around the East Coast of England, over to the northern coast of France and as far west as Weymouth. She has been a perfect first yacht for us. Her sail setup is straightforward as are her mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
She has been ov-wintered on the hard-standing at Shotley Marina for at least 3 months each year. Her sails have had annual valeting. The original VP2003 engine has been serviced regularly. Most of the internal woodwork has been sanded and re-coated with Danish oil. The electronics date from 2016 and are reliable and fit for purpose. Last winter we replaced the engine start battery and two house batteries with AGMs, fitted a new Brunton 2-bladed folding prop and replaced the aging Eberspatcher heater with a Chinese copy - retaining the original fuel system, exhaust and ducting.
We are uncertain of the age of the running a nd standing rigging. We had it assessed by a professional rigger who found it in "serviceable condition".
Malahi is berthed at Shotley and I am posting here to see if there is interest from a MOA member before I list her with a broker.
