We are a family of 5, including three boys, who bought our 1984 centre cockpit Moody 47 sight unseen back in Nov 2017. Luckily she was exactly as described and she has never given us any trouble since. She has two cabins complete with three single beds, a queen-size aft cabin and two heads. Since owning her we have sailed throughout the Caribbean, across the Atlantic Ocean and throughout the Med. She is a solid bluewater cruiser, spacious for her age and has been a safe and reliable family home for the past 4 years. We are selling to upgrade to a catamaran as we are soon to have 2 teenagers on board who need their own space. The boat has been maintained by an ex-aircraft technician and many upgrades and checks have been done since owning the boat including a re-rig, new chainplates, a recent keel bolt inspection and replacement of keel bolt backing plates and nuts. She underwent an insurance survey only a few months ago (she got a perfect bill of health, happy to provide a copy), has a new bottom job, recent rigging and sails, low engine hours, a large amount of solar and wind power, a watermaker, and a reliable dinghy and engine. This boat is ready to sail back across the Atlantic tomorrow if need be, and that was our plan until just recently when we decided to buy a catamaran instead.
