Hi,
I'm drawing up a shortlist of possible boats as contenders for a long term voyage, circuit as yet unconfirmed, but likely to include a med circuit and Atlantic crossing, most likely single handed. Budget is not fixed but looking at £100k plus or minus 20%. This budget gets me caught between a newer less suitable boat and an older more suitable one, from what I've seen advertised. How do you think a Moody 36cc would stack up for such a voyage? Does she favour accommodation over storage space too much? Would she be easy on an autopilot? Any weaknesses to look out for? Has she the room for long term gear such as water maker, additional batteries, can she take davits and a solar arch? Would you only consider the deep keel option only for serious offshore work (I'd love to do the French canals too)?
As an aside, I like the 38cc also but I'm not sure I'd get one of those within budget once all gear is added, but any comparative info welcome. Many thanks.
