Moody 35 Moody 35 bilge keel - viewing this weekend

Hello Moody folk,
I wondered if anyone could offer advice on what to look for with these boats. I'm aware chain plates can be an issue - these have been replaced recently. The engine is the original Thorneycroft. Are there particular inspection hatches or other viewing access that it would be useful to know?
It's a big step up for us: we've day-boated and cruised a Trapper 500 for 20 years but have long admired Moody yachts.
We are looking potentially to being summer live-aboards (down here in Cornwall) and I would appreciate thoughts on this too.
With thanks in advance.

Hi Peter,
We purchased our M35 Bilge Keel 2 years ago and have been very pleased with her.
I would check the keel bolts (those that you can see) - a surveyor should also check the keel to hull joint when lifted out for a survey. Also check the bottom of the mast compression post for corrosion. Note that these two issues can look a lot worse than they are!
The fuel tank is buried between the engine and companion way so hard to inspect but if original steel is probe to corrosion.

Good luck with the viewing.

Peter, good luck with viewing, if you join MOA it could get confusing having two P Coley's... (Not a very common name)
