Moody 64 Interested buyer looking for Moody 64/66

Hi all, its great to see such a thriving community of moody owners. I am in the market for a 65-75 foot boat and am very interested in the Moody 64/66. They seem to come well recommended as an alternative to the similarly sized HR, Oysters etc. Does anyone have information in the difference between the two? I assume it was the same Hull mould that was used but were they built in different yards with different build standards? The layout seems pretty similar as well. Any advice for a potential buyer on what or what not to look for? Does anyone have an idea of the difference between the performance of the standard keel vs. the shoal keel?

Many thanks in advance.

Toby hi - can't help you on the differences between 64/66 but have experience Med sailing on a 64 (shoal) and also an Atlantic crossing, same boat.
The boat was nicely appointed and sailed really well.
In rough conditions the nose tended to dig in and she would slam down on the 4th or 5th wave.
The front cabin had a tendency to be damp, and the middle cabin had the mast running through it at one side and was pretty noisy out at sea as the cables and halliards all bang around inside it.
Overall a very nice boat though, just not as well finished as an Oyster or a HR - the pricing reflects this.
Hope that helps, good luck
Adam
