morning all,
I'm looking at a one owner 42cc 2000 model, has original sails, standing rig and Yanmar engine (with no hour meter ?).
it has been painted and is in seemingly great overall condition,
the main problem that has been disclosed is leak in the forward V berth area.
it does not have much in the way of a maintenance log that has been kept, but was serviced and winterized by a yard in NY.

Hi Graham,

Original standing rigging and sails are overdue for replacement.

The engine may well still be good, but the lack of a working hours meter makes me suspicious.

I would like to know what prompted the painting job, who did it, with what paint and what guarantee the painter provided. Once painted, there is no going back to the original gel coat and a respray is likely to be needed every 10 years or so. The gel coat on our M425 from 1989 still polishes up beautifully.

Sorry Jeff, I wasn't clear on what I'm looking to be answered.
i'm i looking to buy a moody 42, the one iv found so has unknown records and little has been updated from new,
would any one know a fair offer.

I wouldn't guess at a valuation without seeing the boat.
